Eight historians from the region will speak about forgotten moments in 19th century Upcountry history at 7 p.m. Jan. 14, at the Upcountry History Museum-Furman University.
Four faculty members from USC Upstate, Timothy P. Grady, Carol Loar, Robert B. McCormick and Andrew H. Myers, will be participating in the discussion.
n the newly released book, Recovering the Piedmont Past: Unexplored Moments in Nineteenth-Century Upcountry South Carolina History, eight historians have probed forgotten moments in upcountry history, revealing new insights about our region and its role in the nation. During this program, the authors will engage in a stimulating conversation about the ways that exploring local history can lead to deeper understandings of the American past.
