|10:00 am-1:00 pm||60 Seconds of Service (Smith) Horace C. Smith Building|
Come kick off the new year by helping out others in the Spartanburg Community and support USC Upstate’s “60 Seconds of Service” on Thursday, January 17, 2012, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Jazzman’s Quad. At the “60 Seconds of Service” event, you will have the opportunity to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for those who are living in poverty and financially unable to feed themselves. We will be donating all the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to the Second Presbyterian Soup Kitchen in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The Soup Kitchen feeds those who are hungry and works to alleviate the root causes of hunger in Spartanburg. We will also be teaching those who are making the sandwiches about the Second Presbyterian Soup Kitchen and how they can do more to serve the Spartanburg community.
