Korean War Veteran Honor Ceremony (link)

U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) will join Korean War era veterans to honor them at two events in South Carolina on July 27th. The honor ceremonies will be held at USC-Upstate in Spartanburg and the Charleston Area Convention Center in North Charleston.
“The bravery and sacrifice of the men and women who fought for our nation during the Korean War will never be forgotten,” Scott said. “I am truly humbled by their strength, and I am honored to hold this special ceremony for them. While we can never fully repay our veterans for their heroism, we can ensure they are treated with the honor and respect they deserve. I look forward to seeing South Carolina’s Korean War era veterans on July 27th!”
Each veteran will receive a special Congressional Certificate of Appreciation, as well as a pin. All interested veterans should register with Senator Scott’s office by calling either his Greenville (864-233-5366) or North Charleston (843-727-4525) offices to ensure they will receive a certificate and be recognized.An armistice agreement ending the Korean War was signed on July 27, 1953. Estimates place between 40-70,000 Korean War era veterans currently living in South Carolina.
