LOL with CTE: Creating and Taking Exams

Description:

Believe it or not, it's almost finals time!
Faculty, as well as students, experience anxiety about exams. This anxiety can interfere with the construction of effective exams and with students' performance on exams.

Join us for LOL (Lessons on Learning) with CTE, Wednesday, November 28, 12:30-2:00 Media 238.

Faculty and Students from various disciplines will address such issues as:

Planning, constructing, administering, and grading exams
What do you want students to remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, create?
Does your exam reveal which aspects of the course are most important?
In grading your exams, do you restrict your evaluation to academic performance?
Do you eliminate nonacademic considerations such as classroom behavior, punctuality, attitude, personality, interest in the course?

Preparing for exams
Tips on studying for exams from the students' perspective and from the instructors'
Dropping lowest grades, why/ why not?
Choking under pressure, what can be done?

Come when you can. Refreshments provided.
