The TEACh student organization will host its annual book fair on October 29 to November 2 where hundreds of books for children of all ages will be available for purchase. The book fair will be open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday in the School of Education hallway on the second floor of the HEC.
“All USC Upstate students, faculty, and staff are invited to the TEACh book fair to browse through and purchase some great children’s books,” said Dr. Tina Herzberg, director of Graduate Programs in Education. “Proceeds from the book fair will be used to purchase books for two local schools this year.”

AmeriCorps VISTA at USC Upstate will be having an event on campus called “60 Seconds of Service” on Thursday, November 1, 2012, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Jazzman’s Quad. At the “60 Seconds of Service” event, You will have the opportunity to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for those who are living in poverty and financially unable to feed themselves. We will be donating all the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to the Second Presbyterian Soup Kitchen in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The Soup Kitchen feeds those who are hungry and works to alleviate the root causes of hunger in Spartanburg. We will also be teaching those who are making the sandwiches about the Second Presbyterian Soup Kitchen and how they can do more to serve the Spartanburg community.
