The son of two lesbian mothers, Zach Wahls, the 19-year-old University of Iowa engineering student had no idea that his heartfelt testimony before the Iowa House Judiciary Committee on January 31, 2011 would spread like wildfire. Just two days after he testified during that hearing, however, a YouTube video of his testimony went viral, garnering nearly two million views with millions more via Facebook, Twitter, national and international television, and other online media. Like any family's story, his is one of highs and lows, laughs and tribulations. You'll laugh, you may even cringe, and no matter your thoughts on marriage equality in our country, you'll walk away with a new perspective and something to think about. His book, My Two Moms: Lessons of Love, Strength, and What Makes a Family was published in April 2012.
