The University of South Carolina Upstate Foundation will host a free Wills and Estate Planning Seminar on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the BMW Classroom at the George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics, 160 E. St. John St. in Spartanburg. Refreshments will be served at 8 a.m.

The seminar, “Wills and Estate Planning Under the 2010 Tax Act,” will be presented by James W. Shaw, partner with Dennis, Shaw & Drennan, LLC. Listed in Best Lawyers in America, Shaw is certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a certified specialist in estate planning and probate law.

The presentation will give a general overview of the current status of estate planning, including estate and tax planning strategies, and will discuss ways to maximize your estate, benefit your family, and support those causes important to you.
