Time Event Title
9:00 am Sep 23rdCETL Fall Kick Off Event (CLC) Campus Life Center
Guest speaker will be Dr. Christy Price, professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Academic Excellence at Dalton State College. A primary concern of instructors is that the students of today don’t seem to be taking responsibility for their own learning. All too often students attribute their ability to achieve learning outcomes as solely dependent upon the instructors and their methods. Drawing from the research in both cognitive and educational psychology, Dr. Price will help participants apply what is known about encouraging students to take charge of their own learning therefore becoming more effective and responsible learners.
