| 8:30 am-4:30 pm | USC Upstate/BMW Manufacturing Academic Outreach Camp George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and EconomicsFor rising seniors in Spartanburg, Cherokee and Greenville counties. The USC Upstate/BMW Manufacturing Academic Outreach Camp will introduce students to exciting and real world applications of mathematics, statistics and physics. In addition, their teamwork and leadership skills will be honed and improved.
Students will gain hands-on experience in learning and applying Lean and Six Sigma tools to computerized challenges, physical simulations, case studies, and teaching games. Students will also have the opportunity to meet with professionals using these tools and skills as part of their careers, and will have a chance to participate in an in-depth tour of BMW. They’ll even get a chance to improve their driving skills behind the wheel of a BMW vehicle. |
| 9:00 am-12:00 pm | Camp SJWP Academic Annex Building 22013 Spartanburg Junior Writing Project: “Empty Your Mind and Pen of Its Ink: SJWP 2013…Read, Write, Think!” This camp, staffed by SWP Teacher Consultants, has been serving students in the Upstate for over 20 years. The event is open to students all over the upstate and always produces memorable experiences and wonderful pieces of original writing from promising authors. |
